My
Story

It was the summer of 2019, and I had been saving for a LEGO set I wanted. I was short of $20 when, one day, my mom asked me for $10 because we would spend the day around the University Circle, and she didn’t have any cash. I don’t remember when it happened, but my mom gave back the little bag with my $10 at some point, and I just forgot about it. Four weeks later, I saved the other $10 and started looking for my little bag; I couldn’t find it anywhere. My mom helped me, but we couldn’t find it. I asked my mom if she could borrow those $10, and I would pay them back as soon as I saved them, but her answer was no. She suggested doing something to earn the money I needed.

I remember my Aunt Kriss making some delicious cake pops for my parties every Birthday. I helped her with something and had a vague idea about the procedure. Determined to earn the money I needed, I made some cake pops. After a couple of hours, I could do around ten of them. It was a mess, and I didn’t know how to finish them. I asked my mom for help, and we did it; after, I went out with my mom and knocked on the first door, my neighbor’s front door. A kindly retired gentleman bought my first five cake pops, then the friendly neighbor next door bought another couple, and that was the beginning.

The next day, inspired by my success, I called my Aunt Kriss and asked for directions to make them the right way. The voice ran through the neighborhood, and in the days after, kids and adults asked me for more cake pops. During these years, I have been looking at improving the process and offering my customers more options. I use most of the profits to reinvest in my business and buy other tools to expand my business.

Thank you for being part of this story.
